The Microsoft* MS-DOS* ROM Version operating system enables you to develop an embedded or dedicated program on a desktop PC and run this same application on your specially designed system. Compatibility lets you concentrate on your application code instead of struggling with developing non-standard operating systems. This version executes from ROM to increase the amount of the remaining memory in the lower 640 KB to allow you to develop larger application software. Code in ROM will allow the system to boot instantly. Requires a minimum of 21 KB of RAM and 62 KB of ROM with the use of a stripped down version of COMMAND.COM. With full COMMAND.COM and kernel, the requirement increases to 121 KB of ROM. Supports the Advanced Power Management specification which allows application software to take advantage of power management functions. Fully compatible with the Microsoft Windows. The ROM disk utility included allows you to store your applications in ROM. Data transfer utilities enable data transfer between systems through a serial or parallel cable.
